First Largemouth Of 2011...... Finally

After going out a couple times this spring and getting skunked or pickerel-ed, I finally was able to pull in a bass. I got a canoe for my birthday and this was the first chance I got to use it. It's nice not being limited to shore fishing anymore! I started out fishing senkos in the northwestern corner of the pond to no avail. I did see several fish jump, and got some bites however. I switched over to a jig with a GY flappin hog trailer and I felt that familiar TAP-TAP-TAP. I set the hook and pulled in a nice little larry (maybe 1.5 pounds or so). I had to leave, but I stopped and fished a spot on the way back that just looked too good to pass up. I hooked up on a better largemouth but he threw the hook when I got him up to the surface.
